Alpine Ability Updates - January 29th, 2020
Dear U16 and FIS Athletes and Parents:
Wow! We're approaching February, temps are getting warmer, the races are hotter and days are starting to lengthen! Time flies!! You will notice training intensity rising and session duration shortening over the next weeks and remaining season. Now is the time to capitalize on your hard work and progress and let yourself "send it" at the races!
Please see below for upcoming February events in Steamboat for U16 and FIS and follow the links to the respective travel worksheets. Check whether an “x” is next to your name in the column labeled “Rec” and remember to respond in all available columns for attendance, van travel, and housing with a 1 (one) or 0 (zero) to indicate your plans.
Please take care of your race entries and executing waivers prior to the respective race entry deadline dates.

Sync Races This Weekend
Women’s Sync in Winter Park begins with SL on Saturday followed by GS on Sunday.
Men’s Sync in Vail begins with GS on Saturday and ends with SL on Sunday.
All athletes have chosen to travel on their own. Please meet coaches at 7:15AM at the Balcony House, on the second floor in Winter Park or the Golden Peak Lodge in Vail.
Steamboat Sync Feb 12-16
These Sync Races are open only to U16 and are the SL/GS qualifiers for the Rocky/Central U16 Championships in March. For your best performances focus on racing and not qualifications! Ski fast and the qualifications will take care of themselves! Process v. outcomes.

The deadline to sign up for TSC Travel is Feb 6.
Steamboat Feb FIS Feb 18-21
Originally scheduled for Winter Park, the SL’s on Feb 20, 21 are sited at Howelsen Hill. The GS does not yet have a location. The sheet is set up assuming the GS will be nearby and not require an additional hotel night. If this changes, the sheet will be modified accordingly. Please indicate your plans on the sheet below.

Mid-Season Evaluations
Doug and Jared will prepare written mid-season evaluations by Feb 10. Once you have received, please contact your Head Coach if you would like to have a sit-down meeting to review. Athletes and/or parents are welcome to meet with their coach.
