Alpine Age Class Updates - January 4th, 2021

Alpine Age Class Email - January 4th, 2021

Dear Age Class Parents, Team Summit Alpine Coaches and Interested Parties:

A Happy New Year in 2021 to all!

The race season is scheduled to start for our Age Class Athletes in a week from today and there remains much uncertainty with only a few days to go.

The Age Class Open races Team Summit was approved to host in Keystone January 10 and 11 are in the process of being moved to Breckenridge. While Vail Resorts and the County have not provided approval, we are HOPEFUL that this will come in the next few days.

In preparation for this possibility, we are asking for "ALL HANDS ON DECK"

It takes many volunteers to conduct a ski race and We need your help!

While Certified Officials are needed on each race day for the positions of Start and Finish Referees and in Race Administration most of the positions do not need special expertise, just your time and energy.

Team Summit has taken the responsibility of hosting a full slate of competitions this winter, helping to fill in the race schedule to insure that our kids have a complete race season. Hosting events at home, while a burden on our staff and membership, provide a great opportunity for our kids to race in a familiar "home" arena and save the costs of traveling to other resorts.

With limited viewing opportunities due to health restrictions, volunteering is a great chance to be involved in your young athletes' experience and be "in-between the fences" to support your kids and their activities.

It is an URGENT NEED for our club community to rally for us to hold these races next week and races throughout the season.

Please go now to our volunteer page and log in to your account to see the volunteer opportunities that are available to support your kids and their racing.
