Freeski Updates - October 1, 2020

Freeski News
Happy Fall! Snowmaking fired up this week and the weather has been perfect for outdoor training! Go for a run, hike, or bike ride and get stoked for the Winter ahead. Remember to stay diligent with social distancing, hygiene, and wearing your mask, Team Summit needs you all healthy for all the fun times ahead!

Camps
Freeski finished up the Summer with 2 final camps in Park City at the Olympic Park on the Airbag and H20 ramps. Coaches saw huge progress, as athletes brushed up on their final air packages for the season. Thanks to all the families who made the journey with us to make it possible. Start making plans to attend great training next Summer!

Upcoming Fundraising Opportunities!
Team Summit holds many important fundraising and friend-raising events throughout the year. Many directly benefit our scholarship fund or support program needs. Phil and Rodney do a great job running these events. The Team Summit Events webpage is constantly updated with upcoming Team Events and we always need your participation both as volunteers and as participants. Please check the events page frequently.

Programming
The world is a rapidly changing place at the moment. We are highly optimistic we will have great training and competitions. Team Summit is remaining very fluid and flexible as we work to overcome the challenges of operating safely during the pandemic. Many details are being resolved, gradually. We ask for patience as we wait for our operating agreements to be signed with our Partner Resorts. They are all highly supportive and committed to our program and will continue to support our programs with some expected changes.

Pass Vouchers
Passes will be issued once we have cleared all the hurdles with the Resorts and they release our passes. You will all receive an email as soon as they are available, Hang in there, I'm excited to get mine too!

Staff
Most of the Freeski Staff is hired and we move into our training season with orientations, fit for work, and continuing education. TS Freeski is lucky to have many returning coaches again this season and very excited to have a new SkierX coach hired (to be announced soon). Our Head Coaches can help answer any program-specific questions you have as we move closer to the snow!

Competitions
National governing bodies for ski events are still working through their schedules and challenges for 20/21. Expect there to be some changes to the "usual" calendars.  Team Summit is hopeful to pull off our usual Freeski Events but be ready for them to feel different this season. Get your Competition Memberships to those organizations ASAP, many of them have price increases mid-October.

Huge Thanks for signing up in this unsettled climate. Know that Team Summit is fully committed to making the best of this craziness and hope to add some stability to your lives.

 See you Soon!
