The Director’s Award is always a difficult decision to make. The award recognizes exceptional leadership from a member of the Board of Directors. But all of our board members are exceptional so choosing one is a challenge. 

This season’s Director’s Award goes to Anne Gish. Anne is a long-time member of the board. She is also on the Executive Committee and serves as the secretary. Anne is also an Attorney so she helps us navigate the legal side of our work. 

Every time the board meets Anne is responsible for taking the minutes. I can’t imagine how difficult it is to capture those conversations and put them into a succinct document so we have an accurate record of the board work. 

This summer was exceptional because we went through hours of additional meetings in creating our plans for operating in the COVID environment. Not only did that include our programs, but our legal responsibilities to the staff, our donors, sponsors and community. Throughout that process, Anne’s guidance was instrumental in creating policies that treated everyone fairly and responsibilities.
