Affordable Youth Ski & Snowboard Programs in Colorado

At Team Summit Colorado, we work to make youth snowsports more accessible for local families. Athletes in Intro to Team Summit (ITS) and Devo receive more than just coaching; families may access Income-Based Tuition, additional financial assistance, discounted athlete season passes, a Team Summit jacket, lower-cost gear options, free mountain events, and referral credits.

Together, these benefits can reduce the overall cost of a season and help more young people build confidence, develop mountain skills, and find a lasting community in skiing and snowboarding.

Affordability Begins at Registration

Team Summit proudly offers Income-Based Tuition to help eligible families lower their program cost based on household income. This approach is designed to make ITS and Devo accessible to more athletes without requiring every family to wait for a separate scholarship decision.

Save on Athlete Season Passes

A season pass can be one of the largest costs of a winter season. Through Team Summit’s partnerships, registered athletes may be eligible for discounted season passes from participating partners, including Woodward, Copper Mountain, Arapahoe Basin, and Vail Resorts. Pass availability, timing, requirements, and resort-specific procedures vary, so families should review the current policy before purchasing.

These discounts help families access the mountains where athletes train, practice, progress, and enjoy the sport throughout winter.

A Team Summit Jacket Is Free

Team Summit athletes receive an official team jacket as part of program participation, with a new jacket generally provided every other year. The jacket gives athletes practical outerwear for the season while building a shared identity across teammates, coaches, and the broader mountain community.

For families, that means one important piece of winter gear is built into the program experience rather than added as a separate purchase.

Find Quality Gear for Less

Young athletes grow quickly. Skis, snowboards, boots, gloves, helmets, outerwear, and other gear can need replacing from one season to the next.

The annual Team Summit Ski & Snowboard Swap helps families buy quality new and used equipment at affordable prices. Families can also consign equipment they no longer need, helping another athlete get geared up.

When preparing for the season or replacing outgrown equipment, the Swap is one of the most practical ways to lower the cost of youth snowsports in Summit County.

Enjoy More Mountain Experiences

The Summit Foundation Cup gives young athletes an approachable way to experience skiing and snowboarding events in a fun, welcoming setting. These opportunities can build confidence, introduce friendly competition, and create connections across the Team Summit community.

The Summit Foundation Cups are free and open to everyone under the age of 14 interested in trying any of the core ski and snowboard disciplines.

The series also gives athletes opportunities to experience Team Summit’s Summit County resort partners: Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, and Keystone.

Refer a Friend and Earn Credit

Team Summit families can help grow the community and earn a $200 program credit when they refer a new family that registers in an eligible program and identifies the referring family during registration. Credits are applied through the family’s account, subject to Team Summit’s current referral requirements and policies.

This is a meaningful way to welcome new athletes to the team while helping offset future program costs.
