Team Summit Nordic had a great weekend of racing in Soldier Hollow, Utah. This is called a "superqualifier" event – which hosts the entire western US racing at the 2002 Olympic venue. We had 23 athletes competing at Super Qualifier, which also counts as a Junior Nationals qualifier for U16 and older. Elsie Robinson won the U14 classic race, and we had Lucia Taylor, Maeve Niemkiewicz, and Fia Niemkiewicz also finished on the podium. Below are the results from the skate sprint and classic mass start races.

We are nearing the halfway point of the season.
Hey Team,
We are nearing the halfway point of the season. It goes by so fast and the second half is always better than the first half. Skills and confidence are starting to creep up and contests are in full swing. Thank you to everyone who makes the season happen. Coaches bring enthusiasm, patience, and motivation every day, volunteers keep the wheels turning at our events, and parents keep getting the kids healthy snacks all season long. Everyone has an important part to play—many thanks to everyone.

Big Mountain Update – 1/9-1/15 *WITH WEEKEND TIMES
There's a bit more snow in the forecast. While the heaviest amounts won't be around our parts, it looks like some of our future destinations will continue to pick up a fair amount of snow. The skiing is coming around, but there's still plenty of danger.
This past weekend we saw some bigger airs open up, but it's still Colorado in early January. Please always scope the landings before hitting any airs. This is the time of year where any injuries likely will result in missing competitions, so let's keep the fuzzy side up out there.
Schedule
1/10 Tuesday...

What is outstanding is that Nina was the #1 junior in the country (Not first U18 – but first U20/U18). This has (as far as I know) never happened in the history of SNSC.
This is truly a first for us. (Normally college juniors take these spots and it is extremely unusual that a HS aged...

The 42nd Annual Ski Ball
About the Ski Ball?
The Annual Team Summit Ski Ball is the largest event for Team Summit’s need-based scholarship program. Team Summit believes every athlete should have an opportunity to chase their dreams no matter what their financial situation may be.
