Freeski Updates – September 15th, 2020

Freeski News

Wow, that was an early snowfall! It got everyone buzzing for the ski season, thinking about goals, gear, and plans ahead. Along with the new snow, we have lots of positive news from the resorts as they announce their plans to deal with the pandemic.  We currently working through every aspect of our new and returning operating plans.  As we do so, we become increasingly optimistic for an even better, and productive year with even more fun! The key to our success this season is to remain flexible as we work with our partner resorts, local and state health officials to ensure our safety. There will be some changes to our operations as COVID-19 concerns are addressed.

Academy
Academy programs are off to a great start with record participation, coaches are already seeing improvements in strength and coordination. More TS members are taking advantage of our long season and intensive training and it is paying dividends in their results and health. Chris Hughes, is leading the charge with help from Paul Walker, Zak Watkins, Dean Spirito, and Ted Goggin the athletes continue a high level of fitness by Olympic Lifting and a variety of agility drills and field sports.

Comps
There are still many questions to be resolved concerning competitions and travel, we'll share information as it becomes available. The key point will be to remain adaptable and ready for some curveballs as the season unfolds. We are working to get events on the schedule locally and nationally as governing bodies confirm their schedules and policies.

Camps
We were excited to pull off excellent Summer training with the help of families making the sacrifices to travel, Thanks All! Park and Pipe just finished an Airbag Camp at the UOP and Moguls is headed back to Park City for their last H20 Ramp sessions.  Lots of new tricks have been accomplished and the staff is excited to see the hard work pay off on snow this winter!
