Position Title: Little Vikings Coach

Reports to: Nordic Director

Description:

To coach the athletes that are assigned to you by the director to the best of your ability and according to the mission of TEAM SUMMIT COLORADO. Perform all job responsibilities to the highest professional standard while exhibiting exemplary ethical and moral values in support of TEAM SUMMIT COLORADO’S core values.

To accept and adhere to each of the policies, rules, and requirements as outlined in the employee handbook.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensuring safety and well-being of young athletes during a 1.5 – 2 hour session
  2. Be fun and engaging with elementary-aged kids
  3. Teach cross country ski basics as outlined in the material provided
  4. Work as part of a team with the other coaches
  5. Showing kids cross-country skiing is fun!
  6. Maintain an up-to-date US Ski & Snowboard and USASA coaching membership
  7. Complete all requirements; CPR/1st Aid, HeadsUp, SafeSport etc before coaching.

Requirements:

  1. Be at least 16 years old
  2. Experience skiing or working with kids
  3. Be able to ski around for 2 hours (Note: You don’t have to be a great skier, the terrain used is fairly easy, but need to be able to be outside for 2 hours)
  4. Experience skiing or working with kids
  5. Attend Team Summit training and complete required paperwork

Dates and Locations:

  1. Frisco Adventure Park: 1/7 – 2/13 Tuesdays and/or Thursdays 4:00 – 5:30
  2. Gold Run Nordic Center: 1/7 – 2/13
  3. Silverthorne Elementary: 1/7 – 2/13 Wednesdays

Salary: $40 per practice

Benefits: Copper Ski Pass included for working two times a week
