This program provides a variety of benefits to athletes such as exploring new and different trails in Summit County, meeting new friends, staying in shape for skiing and snowboarding, and progressing on a bike over three months time.
The program caters to a variety of abilities including intro level, enduro riding, downhill days at Keystone bike park, and training for the Summit Mountain Challenge bike series throughout the summer. Athletes will also learn proper trail etiquette, bike handling tips(body position, braking, line choice, cornering, drops, jumps, ascending/descending, etc.), LNT, and some terminology of bike parts. The mountain bike program is geared towards athletes 8 and older who can ride on single track trails. Rides will take place on trail systems throughout Summit County on Tuesdays and Thursdays and teams will split each ride depending on numbers and ability in order to match the athletes’ level of riding ability.
