Team Summit Colorado is one of Colorado’s top ski clubs offering year-round programming for young athletes to develop fitness, confidence, and skills in a team-based environment.

Program Approach

Cross-country skiing (Nordic) is an Olympic sport governed by the international ski federation FIS. For nearly 50 years Team Summit’s Nordic program has been a part of the cross-country skiing community providing access to Nordic skiing for young athletes.

More than just focusing on ski racing, Team Summit Nordic’s mission is to provide the youth with a well-balanced program including fitness, self-esteem, and character development through training and competition within a nurturing environment. The club will educate our youth about the values of sports, healthy competition, individual effort, and team spirit.

Nordic Programs

Introductory program for athletes ages 7–11 who want to learn both skate and classic techniques while having fun. ITS 1 athletes focus on fun while learning the basic gears in both disciplines. ITS Level 2 is for young athletes with experience in both skate and classic techniques. ITS Level 2 has an emphasis on developing both skills and fitness, while still having fun and advancing skills. For ITS 2 the minimum age is 8 and athletes must have a season of ITS Level 1 before advancing to Level 2. At this level racing is optional and the emphasis is on learning to race more than being competitive.
