Team Summit Alpine Program

Team Summit Colorado’s Alpine program has built an environment in which athletes athletes can reach their full ski racing potential.  Purpose-built course sets and terrain, technical studies, tactical studies, training alongside and among national teams, periodization, and individualized programming are a given.  We are a student-driven model utilizing a team and group framework with an individualized focus and high quality daily training opportunities.  Competition opportunities are age and ability appropriate.  Introductory athletes participate in local and regional competitions while our elite athletes participate in regional, national, and international series’.  Personal growth is expected.  We believe that through the process of “knowing thyself, every athlete finds the top of their own personal podium on the path to achieving their personal and performance goals in ski racing.

Because alpine skiing requires time to develop the skills needed to be competitive when it matters, long Term Development” of the athlete as the priority.  With this in mind, we maintain 3 core groups: Fundamental and/or Foundational Sport Development (Intro programs); Competition Development (Age Class); and Alpine Competition (Ability).  The Intro programs focus not only on fundamental skills content but also upon the process itself, particularly how learning a challenging skill and having fun go hand in hand.  The age class program continues the developmental progression and begins to increase time spent with the technical, tactical, and mental skills required to compete and to steadily improve over time. The Ability (Team Summit Academy) group hone the athlete’s competitive abilities to achieve the highest level of racing possible. Participants in these programs should be prepared to become more of a partner with their coaches and to objectively identify and correct physical, emotional, and/or intellectual issues identified. Our Academy graduates have gone on to successful D1 and D2 collegiate careers and/or national teams.

Team Summit Colorado is able to offer training and racing on some of the best competition and free-ski terrain, with arguably the longest season in the world. Headquartered in Summit County Colorado, we offer a unique four mountain training program that includes:

  • Copper Mountain
  • Arapahoe Basin
  • Breckenridge
  • Keystone

Because of the naturally long ski season of A-Basin, extended night training under the lights of Keystone, and a great relationship with the Summit School District, we are able to offer a variety of program options including Weekend programs, Full-Time programs, Academy programs, night training, and spring training.  Because of our dedicated staff, Team Summit offers all athletes unparalleled training opportunities with variety approached by few other clubs in the country.

As mentioned above Team Summit is proud to offer its Team Summit Academy program in partnership with the Summit County School District. This program allows the student athlete to pursue both academics and high level training and competition, without sacrificing either. This program offers comprehensive early season conditioning, best in class on-snow training, full-time training and staffed competitions during the winter on-snow season, and post-season on-snow training and conditioning.
