TSC Alpine training provides age and ability-appropriate training progressions to develop skiing skills, progress to more advanced disciplines and pursue the sport to achieve personal podiums at every level. Most importantly, we strive to foster a lifelong passion for skiing and active lifestyles.

Our Programs

Devo

The Ski Racing Devo program (U8, U10, U12) focuses on building ski racing fundamentals through free skiing, drills, and gate training, with race weekends and Youth Ski League (YSL) competitions. For older athletes, the Ski Racing Comp program (U14, U16, U18) provides intensive weekend training for those focused on recreational and High School racing, including gate training and participation in key competitions such as the GS Spectacular and Loveland Derby.

U8, U10, U12

This program develops ski racing fundamentals through free skiing, drills, and gate training (Slalom, GS, Kombi). Race weekends and YSL competitions (3 races) included. Choose your training location: Copper Mtn, Keystone, or Breckenridge.

Requirements:

  • Age Categories: U8 (7 or younger), U10 (8-9), U12 (10-11); based on age as of Dec 31, 2024.
  • Skills: PSIA Level 7—parallel skiing on blue/black terrain, independent chairlift use.
  • Program Dates: Dec 7, 2024 – Mar 30, 2025; Sat & Sun, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM. Bonus: 2 full, 2 half days (holidays). Night training: Fridays, 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM (Dec–Mar) at Keystone.
  • Locations: Breckenridge, Copper, Keystone; training primarily at home mountain.
  • Competitions: 3 YSL races (Giant Slalom, Stubby Slalom, Kombi, Skills Quest); USSS Alpine Competitor license required.

U14, U16, U18

Ski Racing Comp is an intensive training program for U14, U16, and U18 athletes focusing on recreational and High School Racing, not national/international FIS racing. It offers all-day training on Saturdays and Sundays with gate training each weekend and during “Friday Night Lights” at Keystone. Training rotates between Copper Mountain and Keystone. The program includes gate training sessions and all-mountain free skiing and drill skiing. Competitions in the Youth Ski League (YSL) series are supplemented by the GS Spectacular, Loveland Derby, and NASTAR Nationals.

Requirements:

  • Age Categories: U14: 12-13 years old, U16: 14-15 years old, U18: 16-17 years old; based on your child’s age as of December 31, 2024.
  • Skills: PSIA Level 7: Parallel skiing on blue and black terrain; high level of independence to ride chairlifts and navigate the training venue solo. Questions about skill levels? Contact Devo & Comp Head Coach Samantha Streletsky at samantha@teamsummit.org.
  • Program Calendar: December 7, 2024 – March 30, 2025; Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM. Bonus: two full days, and two half days over the holidays. Night training: Fridays, 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM (mid-December to early March) at Keystone.
  • Locations:  Half the season is at Keystone Resort and half of the season is at Copper Mountain. There is no home mountain for Comp.
  • Competitions: Athletes compete in the YSL series throughout the season and are encouraged to participate in the GS Spectacular, Loveland Derby, and the NASTAR Nationals.
  • Costs: Comp $3775 (Season Pass Required).
  • Season Pass: Copper Mountain, Ikon Pass, or Epic Local Pass for training.

Age Class

Team Summit’s Part-Time Age Class programs provide U10, U12, and U14 skiers with flexible training options to match their goals. The Part-Time Age Class program offers up to 60 training and competition days from November to April, including slalom, giant slalom, combi, and an introduction to Super G (for U12 and U14), with a focus on developing fundamental skills through free-ski training. The Part-Time Age Class Plus program extends access to all on-snow sessions, including early season training, with up to 70 days of training and competitions, allowing athletes to train intensively or maintain a consistent schedule from October to April alongside full-time academy athletes.

U10, U12, U14

This program offers U10-U14 skiers flexible training (3 days/week average) alongside full-time academy athletes. Train intensively or maintain a consistent schedule throughout the season. Includes up to 60 training/competition days (Nov-April) in slalom, giant slalom, combi, and intro to Super G (U12 & U14). Free-ski training develops fundamental skills.

Requirements:

  • Age Categories: U10: 9 years or younger, U12: 10-11 years old, U14: 12-13 years old; based on your child’s age as of December 31, 2024.
  • Skills: PSIA Level 9: Parallel skiing on all terrain; high independence to ride chairlifts and navigate the venue solo. Previous racing experience in Ski Racing Devo, Comp, or similar program recommended.
  • Program Calendar: November 26, 2024 – April 15, 2025; Saturday, Sunday, and holiday periods 8:15 AM – 3:00 PM; weekday training Tuesday to Friday 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM. Night training: Fridays, 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM (mid-December to early March) at Keystone.
  • Locations: Training at Summit County’s 4 ski areas; gate training at Copper Mountain, free-skiing at Copper and Arapahoe Basin; mid-December to March training rotates between Keystone and Copper.
  • Competitions: Athletes compete in the Bolle Age Class series (USSS/RMD sanctioned), racing Slalom, Giant Slalom, Kombi, and Super G. U14s may participate in the Sync series and championship events such as the GS Spectacular and Loveland Derby.
  • Costs: U10 $4,335.00, U12 $4,585.00, U14 $5,095.00 + $400 Volunteer Service Fee
  • Season Pass: Athletes must have passes for Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain, Ikon Pass, or Epic Local Pass for training. Those in good standing can receive discount vouchers for Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain, and Epic Local Pass, but not Ikon Pass. Vouchers are sent close to the season’s start. For competition around Colorado, an Ikon Pass may be better than a Copper Mountain season pass.

  • Skills: PSIA Level 9: Parallel skiing on all terrain; high level of independence to ride chairlifts and navigate the venue solo. Previous racing experience in Ski Racing Devo, Comp, or a similar program highly recommended.
  • Program Calendar: October 25, 2024 – April 15, 2025; athletes can participate in scheduled on-snow training for their age group from late October through mid-April, averaging 3 days per week. Training days: Saturday, Sunday, and holidays 8:15 AM – 3:00 PM; Tuesday to Friday 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM. Night training: Fridays, 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM (mid-December to early March) at Keystone.
  • Locations: Training at any of the 4 ski areas in Summit County; October to December gate training primarily at Copper Mountain and free-skiing at Copper and Arapahoe Basin; mid-December to late March training splits between Keystone and Copper.
  • Competitions: Athletes compete in the Bolle Age Class series (USSS/RMD sanctioned), racing Slalom, Giant Slalom, Kombi, and Super G. U14s may participate in the Sync series and championship events like the GS Spectacular and Loveland Derby. U10 and U12 athletes are eligible for championships, while U14s qualify for the Rocky/Central U14 Championships through designated races. Team travel is offered in special circumstances.
  • Costs: U10 – $4,845.00, U12 – $5,095.00, U14 – $5,875.00
  • Season Pass: Athletes must have passes for Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain, Ikon Pass, or Epic Local Pass for training. Ability

The Part-Time Ability and Part-Time Ability Plus programs are expertly designed for U16, U18, U21, and FIS athletes looking to enhance their ski racing skills while maintaining flexibility in their training schedules. With an average commitment of three days per week, athletes will have access to extensive training and competition opportunities, including integration with full-time academy teams. These programs prioritize Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) principles, focusing on technique, tactics, and preparation for USSS and FIS races, making them ideal for skiers aiming to supplement their high school racing experience or transition into full-time programs.

U16, FIS

This program is designed for U16 & FIS athletes (average 3 days/week training). Train intensively or maintain a consistent schedule (Nov-April). Includes up to 60 training/competition days in slalom, giant slalom, and Kombi. Integrate with full-time academy athletes and coaches. Ideal for skiers competing in USSS/FIS races, supplementing high school racing, or aiming for a full-time program. Focuses on LTAD principles, technique, tactics, and RMD U16/FIS prep.

Requirements:

  • Age Categories: U16: 14-15 years old, U18: 16-17 years old, U21: 18-20 years old; based on your child’s age as of December 31, 2024.
  • Skills: Previous ski racing experience and a valid US Ski and Snowboard Competition license required. For questions about skill levels, contact the Alpine Program Director.
  • Program Calendar: November 26, 2024 – April 15, 2025. Part-time athletes can participate in scheduled on-snow training sessions with the U16 or FIS group, averaging 3 days per week. Training days: Saturday, Sunday, and holidays (half-days); Tuesday to Friday 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
  • Locations: Training will primarily take place at Copper Mountain, with additional short blocks at Keystone and Breckenridge.
  • Competitions: U16 athletes compete in the Sync Series (USSS/RMD sanctioned). FIS athletes compete in the Surefoot Colorado Ski Cup Series and may qualify for FISU, Nor-Am, and Championship events. Ability athletes can compete in all disciplines, including Super G and Downhill, but it’s not mandatory. Race and sign-up details are updated on the Ability Team Calendar in Demosphere. Team travel is available for out-of-division events, with coaches’ travel expenses included in competition travel billing.
  • Costs: $5,595.00 + $400 Volunteer Service Fee
  • Season Pass: Athletes must have passes for Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain, Ikon Pass, or Epic Local Pass for training. PART-TIME ADD ON

Supplement your primary training with this program! Ski with your age group (Jan-April) for up to 20 days. Integrate with full-time academy athletes and coaches. Perfect for adding to part-time programs, middle/high school racing, or extra training sessions.

  • Age Categories: U12: 10-11 years old, U14: 12-13 years old, U16: 14-15 years old, U18: 16-17 years old, U21: 18-20 years old; based on your child’s age as of December 31, 2024.
  • Skills: Athletes should have prior ski racing experience and a US Ski and Snowboard Competition license. For questions about skill levels, contact the Alpine Program Director.
  • Program Calendar: Part-Time Add-On athletes may participate in any scheduled on-snow training session for U12, U14, U16, or FIS from January 1 to April 15, 2024. Training on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays consists of full days for U12 and U14, and half days for U16 and older. Training is from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday to Friday. Keystone night training is available from mid-December to early March, 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM on Fridays.
  • Training Locations: Training may occur at any of the four ski areas in Summit County. From January 1 to April 15, training is primarily at Copper Mountain Resort, with short blocks scheduled at Keystone and Breckenridge.
  • Competitions: Athletes may attend competitions with Team Summit when qualified. These US Ski and Snowboard/Rocky Mountain Division (USSS/RMD) sanctioned events are held at various resorts. Competitors must have a valid USSS Alpine Competitor License. Age-class athletes travel independently and cover their own expenses. Team travel may be available for out-of-division Ability (Ski-Up U14/U16/FIS) athletes, with coaches’ travel expenses shared among all attendees.
  • Costs: $2,025.00 + $400 Volunteer Service Fee

ACADEMY AND POST-GRADUATE

U12, U14, U16, FIS

The Full-Time Programs encompass the Age Class U12/U14 Academy, U16 Academy, FIS Academy, and Post-Graduate (PG) Programs. Students collaborate with Academic Partners to create schedules that accommodate afternoon training and competition attendance. These programs include intensive pre-season conditioning and up to six days of on-snow training weekly, aimed at athletes striving to reach their highest potential in skiing and racing while developing skills for success in all areas of life.


U12, U14

Requirements:

  • Age Categories: U10: 10-11 years old, U12: 12-13 years old; based on your child’s age as of December 31, 2024. Ages: 10 to 13; mature U10 skiers are considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Skills: Athletes should have extensive previous ski racing experience and a US Ski and Snowboard Competition license. For questions about appropriate skill levels, please contact the Alpine Program Director.
  • Program Calendar: U12 and U14 Academy Program athletes participate in a conditioning program 3 days per week from August to October. On-snow training is on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons and all day on weekends and holidays. Optional sessions are offered on Friday afternoons and nights. Conditioning runs from September 3 to October 22, 2024, with on-snow training from October 25, 2024, to April 15, 2024. Saturday, Sunday, and Holiday periods are 8:15 AM – 3:00 PM; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM. Night training at Keystone runs mid-December to early March from 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM on Fridays.
  • Training Locations: Training may occur at any of the four ski areas in Summit County. Training from October through the holidays will primarily be at Copper Mountain for gate training and at both Copper Mountain and Arapahoe Basin for free skiing. From mid-December to early March, training is at Keystone on most Thursdays and Fridays and at any of the four ski areas on remaining weekdays and weekends.
  • Competitions: Age Class athletes will ski in the Bolle Age Class series of races. These US Ski and Snowboard/Rocky Mountain Division (USSS/RMD) sanctioned competitions are held at various resorts throughout the area. Competitors must have a valid USSS Alpine Competitor license to compete. U12 and U14 athletes race Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Kombi, with opportunities for Super G training and racing. U14 athletes will have the chance to be introduced to USSS point racing in the Sync series (U16 race series), as well as during the end-of-season GS Spectacular and Loveland Derby. Championship races are in March; all U12 athletes are eligible for championships, while U14 athletes qualify for the Rocky/Central U14 Championships.
  • Costs: $7,395.00 + $400 Volunteer Service Fee
  • Season Pass: Athletes need passes for Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain, or the Ikon Pass, along with the Epic Local Pass for training. Team members in good standing may receive discount vouchers for season passes at Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain, and the Epic Local Pass, but not for the Ikon Pass. Vouchers will be distributed close to the season’s start. Athletes competing in Colorado should consider the Ikon Pass over the Copper Mountain Season Pass.

On-snow training is from October 25, 2024, to April 15, 2025, with half days on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, and training from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on weekdays.
  • Training Locations: Training may take place at Copper Mountain, Keystone, and Breckenridge. From November through the end of the season in April, training will primarily be at Copper Mountain, with short blocks scheduled at Keystone and Breckenridge.

Conditioning runs from June 10 to October 23, 2024, and on-snow training takes place from October 25, 2024, to April 15, 2025. Weekend and holiday training consists of half days, with Tuesday through Friday training from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

  • Age Categories: High School Graduates 18 years and older; U21: 18-20 years old; Senior: 21 years and older. Age Categories: U21 and Senior based on your age as of December 31, 2024.
  • Skills: Athletes must have extensive previous USS and FIS ski racing experience, a FIS License, and a US Ski and Snowboard Competition license. The Post-Graduate (PG) Program requires an application and interview prior to enrollment. Please contact the Alpine Program Director.
  • Program Calendar: Athletes in the PG Program participate in a conditioning program three days per week from June to August and five days per week in September and October. On-snow training is conducted on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons, along with half days on weekends and holidays. Conditioning runs from June 10 to October 23, 2024, and on-snow training takes place from October 25, 2024, to April 15, 2025. Weekend and holiday training consists of half days, with Tuesday through Friday training from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
