How to Sign Up and Get Started as a Volunteer with Team Summit Colorado

If you’ve been thinking about volunteering with Team Summit Colorado, you’re in the right place. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of the club—from keeping competitions running smoothly to helping at community events and fundraisers. The good news? Getting started is simple thanks to our online volunteer portal: POINT.

Here’s everything you need to know to sign up and jump in.

Step 1: Create Your Volunteer Account

Head over to our volunteer portal: https://pointapp.org/orgs/5013.
  1. Click “Join” and set up your free POINT account.
  2. You can create your profile using an email address or connect through Google, Apple, or Facebook.
  3. Once you’re signed in, you’ll be connected directly to Team Summit’s volunteer opportunities.

Step 2: Browse Upcoming Opportunities

Once logged in, you’ll see a calendar of events and volunteer shifts. Opportunities include:
  1. On-Snow Competitions – gatekeeping, slip crew, course maintenance, registration, and more.
  2. Community Events – Bubblegum Races, Zeke’s Shredders, and the Annual Ski Swap.
  3. Fundraisers – Ski Ball, Eat, Ski, and Be Merry.
  4. Behind-the-Scenes Roles – office support, communications, logistics.
Each listing includes a description, time commitment, and any perks (like lift tickets and lunch for competition-day volunteers).

Step 3: Sign Up for a Shift

When you find a role that fits your schedule and interests:
  1. Click on the opportunity.
  2. Review the details.
  3. Hit “Sign Up.”
POINT will confirm your spot and add the event to your profile. View a detailed step-by-step guide here: https://www.wizardshot.com/tutorials/16926-tutorial-registering-for-events-point-app-home-page

Step 4: Track Your Hours

POINT also makes it easy to track your volunteer hours automatically. This is especially important for families working toward their Volunteer Service Fee (VSF) credit. No paper forms, no guesswork—just log in and you’ll see your contributions add up. Remember, your VSF hour minimum applies to your family, not each athlete. If your family has an athlete in an Intro or Devo program, then the refund minimum for the season is 25 hours. If your family has an athlete in a Competition program, then the refund minimum for the season is 30 hours. *Nordic may follow a different policy depending on the program. Please inquire with your director to clarify.

Step 5: Show Up and Have Fun

On event day, you’ll check in with the volunteer coordinator or event lead. Don’t worry if it’s your first time—training and guidance are provided. All you need to bring is your energy, enthusiasm, and maybe an extra layer for those on-snow days!

Why Use POINT?

POINT keeps everything in one place:
  1. Easy online sign-ups.
  2. Automatic hour tracking.
  3. Notifications for upcoming opportunities.
  4. Add multiple people to single or different shifts.
  5. Ability to request hours for volunteer shifts
  6. A clear view of how your time supports Team Summit.
It’s the simplest way to stay connected and make sure your volunteer efforts count.
