Project Gold: Team Summit Mogul Athletes on the National Stage

When U.S. Ski & Snowboard invites an athlete to its Freestyle Project Gold Camp, it is a strong sign that their hard work, consistency, and potential are being recognized at the national level. This summer, Team Summit mogul skiers Georgia Kirschner and Easton Dean qualified for Project Gold and spent time training at Utah Olympic Park and the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Center of Excellence in Park City, Utah. Fellow athlete Micah Rubinstein was also selected this year, though he did not make the trip to Utah.

What Is Project Gold?

Project Gold is an invitation-only development camp run by U.S. Ski & Snowboard for top junior freestyle mogul and aerial athletes. Athletes are selected using national criteria and results, then train in a high-performance environment with U.S. Ski & Snowboard staff and coaches. For young mogul skiers, the camp offers a valuable look at the standards, habits, and training environment associated with the national team pipeline.

What Athletes Do at Project Gold

At Utah Olympic Park and the Center of Excellence, athletes take part in a mix of technical, physical, and evaluative training.
  • Water ramps help athletes safely refine jumps, air awareness, and landing mechanics through repeated practice away from snow.
  • Trampoline and acrobatics sessions build body control and confidence that carry over into mogul jumping.
  • Strength and conditioning work at the Center of Excellence gives athletes exposure to national-level training expectations.
  • Athlete evaluations measure areas such as balance, agility, power, and endurance against U.S. Ski & Snowboard benchmarks.
Just as importantly, athletes spend time around some of the best skiers and coaches in the moguls world, gaining perspective that can shape their training long after camp ends.

Why It Matters

The value of Project Gold goes beyond a single camp. It gives athletes direct feedback from national coaches, exposure to a high-performance training environment, and a better understanding of what it takes to continue progressing in the sport. For Team Summit, opportunities like this reflect the strength of a development pathway that begins with strong fundamentals and continues through dedicated moguls training. At the same time, this recognition is never just about a few names. Team Summit has had other athletes attend camps like these in past years, often with far less attention. That steady history matters. It reflects the daily work of athletes, coaches, and families across the entire moguls community.

Congratulations to Our Athletes

Congratulations to Georgia Kirschner and Easton Dean on attending this year’s camp, and to Micah Rubinstein on earning selection as well. Their invitations are worth celebrating, and they also represent the broader efforts of the teammates who train beside them and the Team Summit community that helps create these opportunities. Chris Carson, Team Summit Freeski Director, stated:
“We are proud of Georgia, Easton, and Micah for earning Project Gold recognition. Opportunities like this reflect years of consistent work, and they also speak to the culture our entire moguls group helps build every day.”

The Team Summit Pathway

Team Summit is a Gold Certified Club with a freeski pathway that includes moguls development, along with a broader mission to build well-rounded skiers and create long-term opportunities for growth.
