Alpine Updates - August 27, 2020

Dear Team Summit Colorado Alpine Ability and U14 athletes, All Alpine parents and Alpine Coaching staff:

I hope that all of you have enjoyed some great adventures and activities during this unusual COVID summer and that the start of the school year, whether virtual, in-person or hybrid has gone as smoothly as possible.

At Team Summit, we have had several successful and safe on-snow training camps at Copper Mountain and Mt. Hood. Full-time Academy athletes have had an in-person summer conditioning program (outdoors, masked, and distanced with daily disinfection of equipment) and we have been busy preparing for the season ahead with our resort hosts and other partners.

Earlier today, everyone should have received a message from TSC Executive Director CB Bechtel regarding the ongoing co-ordination with Summit County resorts. While not exactly the same as it always has been, we are looking forward to providing you with the programs and experience you expect from us.

Considerable work has been going on locally, regionally, and nationally re-imagining what racing will look like and best practices for following CDC guidance and state and county health regulations.

Announcements about training and racing plans will be made in the coming weeks and schedules communicated to everyone as soon as possible.

In the meantime, the fall dryland conditioning program will begin the Tuesday following Labor Day for Full-time Academy skiers. Our Part-Time skiers are welcome to drop in when schedules allow and our Ski Race Devo kids will have two sessions in both Summit County and Denver.

Equipment ordering and sales will be different this fall and coaches are ready to help advise with choices and sizing. Please read below for more detailed information.

Thank you all for your patience, understanding, and support. As always, please call, text or email with questions or just to catch up. Be well.
