Team Summit Colorado Families: Understanding Your Volunteer Service Fee (VSF)
Hey Team Summit Families! We’re so excited to kick off another fantastic season with you and your athletes. We know that the success of Team Summit Colorado relies heavily on the incredible support of our dedicated families, and the Volunteer Service Fee (VSF) is a key part of how we work together to make that happen. This post will walk you through the simple steps of the VSF process for the upcoming 25/26 season. Let’s dive in!Step 1: Program Registration and Volunteer Service Fee
During the registration process for your athlete’s chosen program, you’ll notice a Volunteer Service Fee. This fee is charged once per family, per season, regardless of how many athletes you have participating. Here’s a breakdown of the VSF amounts and associated volunteer hour requirements for each program:- Intro & Devo: $300 fee, earn it back by completing 25 hours of volunteering.
- Comp: $400 fee, earn it back by completing 30 hours of volunteering.
- Nordic: $300 fee, earn it back by completing just 5 hours of volunteering at a Nordic event.
Step 2: Join Us on POINT!
To track your volunteer hours and stay informed about opportunities, we utilize a platform called POINT. It’s super easy to get started:- Visit the Team Summit Colorado organization page on POINT: https://pointapp.org/orgs/5013
- Click the “Join” button to create your family profile.
Step 3: Get Involved and Volunteer!
This is where the fun begins! Team Summit Colorado offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Whether you’re passionate about fundraising, enjoy supporting our athletes and coaches directly, love the excitement of competition days, or are happy to lend a hand with office tasks, there’s a way for everyone to contribute. Keep an eye on POINT for upcoming events and needs. You’ll find opportunities to:- Assist with fundraising events that directly support our athletes.
- Provide on-the-ground support during training sessions or team activities.
- Help run and organize competitions hosted by Team Summit.
- Contribute to the smooth operation of our office.
- And much more!
Step 4: End-of-Season VSF Reconciliation
In May, after the season wraps up, we’ll be in touch! We’ll email each family with a summary of their recorded volunteer hours. This email will let you know if you’ve successfully met your program’s volunteer hour requirement and are eligible for a refund of your VSF. We’ll also ask you how you’d like to handle any potential credit:- Roll it over: You can choose to have the VSF amount credited to your family’s Demosphere account for the following season’s fees.
- Donate to Team Summit Colorado: If you’d like to further support our organization, you can opt to donate the funds. You’ll receive a donation letter for tax purposes.
- Request a refund check: We can mail a check for the VSF amount to you by the end of May.
