Alpine Update: Welcome to the 2025-26 Season!

To: Team Summit Alpine Ability, Age Class, Comp and Devo Parents; Ability Athletes; and Alpine Coaches These Alpine Updates are distributed periodically and contain much information about the Alpine Program, upcoming events, important dates, and other timely information. Please take the time to read through these messages thoroughly and act on any action items. We work hard to provide you with the information that you need to successfully navigate the season and keep your questions to the minimum. Welcome to the start of the 2025-26 Season! Our final summer on-snow camp is underway this week on the Copper “Glacier”, the fall conditioning program for the Age Class and Ability Teams is starting up in a couple of weeks, and early season on-snow training is slated to begin the last week in October!

Your Guide to Staying Informed

In order to be as efficient and thorough as possible, all the information you need as a family is available through the following resources. We rely on our membership to review the information provided from these sources to avoid unnecessary questions. If information is not yet provided, it is normally because we have not received the necessary details from our partners, including resorts, suppliers, US Ski and Snowboard (USSS), and the Rocky Mountain Division (RMD). For specific questions, please contact the appropriate team member: Please read on below for more information on program start dates, equipment, passes, race calendars, and more. Please reach out to me or our staff listed below with questions or just to catch up. We’re looking forward to seeing all of you this fall or when winter starts up! Best Regards, Doug Elsey TEAM SUMMIT COLORADO Assistant Alpine Director / Head Age Class and U14 Coach doug@teamsummit.org

Program Start Dates

Fall dryland training begins on Tuesday, September 2nd for Ability athletes and Wednesday, September 3rd for Age Class athletes.
  • Ability Conditioning: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM – 4:15 PM
  • Age Class Conditioning: Mondays & Fridays, 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM; Wednesdays, 2:45 PM – 4:00 PM
The Ability and Age Class calendars are updated in Demosphere through October 22. On-snow training is slated to begin on October 25 for all Full-Time and Part-Time Plus athletes, weather permitting. Please be aware that the early season training schedule can be very fluid due to weather, snow conditions, and demand from visiting teams. While Copper Mountain generously supports Team Summit, there may be times when our training space is restricted to accommodate fee-paying teams. IMPORTANT: There will be NO TRAINING offered during the World Cup, from November 27-30. Ski Racing Devo and Ski Racing Comp will begin with on-snow training on Saturday, December 6.

School Van Shuttle Program – Volunteers Needed!

Parent volunteers are still needed for both our Ability and Age Class shuttle programs. By helping with the driving, you’ll be freeing up the coaching staff to focus on setting up training venues in advance. This ensures that when the athletes arrive, everything is ready to go, maximizing their time on snow. Your support is greatly appreciated, and you will receive VSF hours for your services. Please reach out to Mark Lemon to volunteer: Email: marm.mtncamper@gmail.com Phone: 801-634-6070
