Alpine Update – September 10, 2022

Dear Team Summit Alpine Ski Racing Devo, Age Class and Ability Parents; All Ability Athletes; Alpine SRD, Age Class and Ability Coaches:

These regular Alpine Updates contain much program information including time sensitive information on upcoming events and activities for all Alpine Program participants and staff. Please take the time to read this information carefully and act on any requests as quickly as possible.

Also, please refer to the Alpine Page of the Team Summit Website: https://teamsummit.org//Alpine. Here you will find program specific information regarding general training schedules, information on required passes, training locations, equipment and much more.

We currently use TeamSnap for our Calendaring and IM. There you will find daily training information including times, locations and other details. All athletes are requested to indicate their availability so coaches know who to expect at training (and not leave someone behind!).

The Ability and Age Class Team rosters and calendars are updated through the start of on-snow training on October 21. Ski Racing Devo (SRD) rosters and calendars will be updated in advance of on-snow training that begins on December 3.

Team Summit has begun the process of migrating to a new CRM platform that will eventually combine the functions of Campminder and TeamSnap into an integrated application. Our hope is to migrate the TeamSnap functions in time for the start of on-snow training and Campminder functions in time for the opening of 2023-24 registration in early or mid-April. Please keep an eye out for additional information in the coming weeks.

We are excited to announce a more intensive ski race training opportunity in Ski Racing Devo (SRD) for U14 and U16 SRD athletes whose pathway is leading towards recreational or High School Racing and not towards national and international FIS racing during their High School and Collegiate years. See below for details!

Competition Calendars for all programs and age groups are nearly finalized. Season pass information from each of our partner resorts is being compiled. Once we have final pass and calendar information, it will be communicated immediately to all Alpine membership.

SRD+ Programming Introduced in Ski Racing Devo
Ski Racing Devo athletes race in the Rocky Mountain Division (RMD) Youth Ski League (YSL) series. For 2022-23, RMD has added the U16 Age category in addition to the previously existing U8, U10, U12 and U14 YSL age categories.
An alternative to the more demanding and competitive Age Class and Ability programs, SRD+ provides an opportunity for Devo racers to have additional gate training each weekend. Based at Copper Mountain, racers designated as SRD+ will have two gate training sessions most weekends in addition to their group all-mountain free skiing and drill skiing throughout the season. They will also have the choice to compete in the GS Spectacular and Loveland Derby in the spring!

Please contact SRD Head Coach Samantha Streletsky samantha@teamsummit.org with any questions and for additional information.
