Alpine Updates – July 1st, 2020
Alpine Updates – July 1st, 2020
Dear Team Summit Colorado Alpine Ability athletes, All Alpine parents, and Alpine Coaching staff:
First, the good news: The Team Summit Alpine Camp dates in Mt. Hood are confirmed! With excellent conditions expected to last through August and confirmation of our Summer Camp Training Lanes reservation, we are now able to open registration for two one week sessions at Mt. Hood from August 4-9 and 11-16. Registration is open on Campminder now.
Next, the less good news: As a result of the remaining uncertainty regarding the viability of international travel, specifically the E.U.’s decision to restrict entry by US citizens when borders open on July 1, we have decided to cancel this year’s Stelvio, Italy training camp and focus our efforts on Mt. Hood.
With continuing restrictions on group travel and lodging. The Mt. Hood Camp will be organized as a “Day Camp”. Travel, local transportation, accommodations, and meals will be the individual responsibility of participants and/or their families. Team Summit Coaches; Doug, Jared, Mia, and Aldo will meet athletes near the bottom of the lift daily and conduct the on-snow training. Conditioning and recreational activities will be self-directed and meetings will be virtual.
While this continues to be a challenging time, we are pleased to be able to offer an additional 12 days of on-snow training for Team Summit Age Class and Ability athletes this summer.
Please review all details below and feel free to contact me or our coaching team with additional questions.
-Aldo
