Big Mountain Skiing Update – 2/6-2/12
Telluride was a completely successful start to our competition season. A total of 5 podiums, and 6 top 5s, and 17 out of 18 athletes landing their runs. I truly could not ask for a more consistent start to our comp season. Morgan Fields was 2nd in 15-18 female, Evan Barth was 4th 15-18 female, Hannah Webb was 1st 12-14 female, Maddie Haser was 2nd 12-14 female, Thomas Drummond was 2nd 12-14 Male, Reid Litwiller was 3rd 15-18 ski male. Of course these were the highlights, and I cannot stress enough how happy I am with everybody's performance.
I hope this weekend went smooth back home, and that the skiing provided. Looking into the week ahead, we're going to have to make some changes to our midweek and weekend agenda.
Schedule
12/7 No Training (Copper National)
12/8 No Training (Copper National)
12/10 No Training (Copper National/Recovery for competing athletes)
12/11 No Formal training (Copper Regional) – but everybody should come cheer on those competing!
12/12 Abasin 9AM-2PM
Reminders
We had a small incident at Abasin on Saturday, and this is just a friendly reminder to keep it cool through our base areas. Our version of slow is not the general public's version of slow.
If you aren't competing, come out and watch the events at Copper if your schedule allows. The freeride community and scene is truly the best around.
Thanks!
