FREESKI DEVELOPMENT HEAD COACH // Full Time Seasonal

Description:
Manage daily Freeski Devo program operations while working with the Freeski Program Director to designate appropriate program goals, training, and competition schedules. Help host Freeski competitions as needed. 

  1. Communication - Timely interaction with parents, coaches, athletes, and directors. 
  2. Manage and train seasonal Freeski Development Coaches 
  3. Oversee Freeski Development athlete goal setting, tracking, and evaluation
  4. Clear instruction and group management on four (4) mountains
  5. Develop competition plans including US Ski & Snowboard, USASA, and IFSA local events
  6. Design training and camps to move athletes into competition programs.
  7. Implement daily, weekly, and seasonal plans for long term athlete development

Qualifications, Licenses, Certifications 
Prior experience Coaching, Ski Competition or Youth Development. Strong knowledge of the Freeski disciplines, Big Mountain, Park and Pipe, Moguls, SkiCross.

USSS Lvl 100  
IFSA level 1
USASA level 100
PSIA 

Schedule 
Mid-October - End of April 
Fri-Sun plus weekly emails and coach communication
Help with special events as needed

SNOWBOARD COACH // Full Time Seasonal

Description:

  1. Work with Snowboard Program Director to meet program needs
         - Video
         - Radio
         - Course set-up and tear-down
  2. Practice timely and effective communication with athletes, parents, Program Director, and others as needed.
  3. Implement monthly, weekly, and daily training according to season, conditions, and progression
         - Addresses safety concerns as necessary
  4. Additional tasks
         - Athlete tracking
         - Organizes athlete/parent orientation with Directors
         - Weekly group emails
         - Assist in fundraising and additional activities
         - Schedules and conducts individual goal setting
         - Schedules and conducts team goal settings
         - Tracks progress of both team and individual goals
         - Assist with recruitment as necessary
         - Assist with additional tasks as necessary

Qualifications, Licenses, Certifications 
- Prior experience instructing, coaching or participation in competitions
- US Ski & Snowboard Coaching License or ability to obtain within first year of employment
- CDC Heads Up Traumatic Brain Injury recognition course or ability to complete within first year of employment
- SafeSport certificate ability to obtain within first year of employment 
- CPR & First Aid certification ability to obtain within first year of employment

Schedule

BIG MOUNTAIN SKI COACH // Part Time Seasonal

Job Description:

  • Work with Program Director to designate appropriate program goals
    • - Equipment needs: video, radio, trampoline etc.
    • - Generate athlete roster and program numbers
    • - Head Coach details program offerings
    •  
  • Responsible for Big Mountain training, competition & camps
  • - Helps design periodized monthly, weekly, daily trainings according to season, conditions and progression 
  • - Demonstrates skills (as necessary)
  • - Manages team in daily sessions
  •  
  • Works with Freeski Program Director:
    • - Coaches' education, program philosophy
    • - Hold coaches meetings to go over training plans and lead progressions
    • - Hosting Events
    • - Team Fundraisers
    •  
    • Big Mountain Coach helps with competitions, and manages team travel.
      • - Attends IFSA/ JFT meetings to determine schedules and have input on board decisions
      • - Schedules and runs home competitions with Program Director
      • - Organizes team transport and lodging

  • Team athlete tracking, communication & recruitment
    • - Organizes athlete/parent orientation with Program Director
    • - Team calendar & emails
    • - Team fundraising & activities
    • - Schedules and conducts regular individual and team meetings with athletes to identify goals and track progress

*This position is for Saturday and/or Sunday programs with additional days possible*

- Share their passion for skiing with young aspiring athletes
- Balance:

- Conduct regular communication with parent groups prior to on-hill trainings
- Support Community Events as needed
- Attend trainings to advance your career through certifications (paid for by Team Summit Colorado)


Duration of Employment
- December through the end of March


Qualifications, Licenses, Certifications 
- Prior experience instructing, coaching or participation in competitions
- PSIA or similar experiences preferred 
- Must have, or be willing to obtain within the first year of employment:
     - CDC Heads Up 
     - SafeSport certificate 
     - CPR & First Aid certification 
*Certificate expenses reimbursed by Team Summit Colorado if employed

PARK & PIPE DEVELOPMENT SKI COACH // Part Time Seasonal

Description

Hiring a part time park and pipe coach to help young athletes develop in the discipline. Previous coaching and/or competition experience preferred.  Will aid young teenagers safely navigate terrain parks, competitive environments.
Process oriented coaching philosophy is a must. 

Must love park and pipe skiing.
