SNOWBOARD DIRECTOR // Full Time

Position: Snowboard Program Director

Reports to: Executive Director

Position Description:

To provide service to the program's membership and support the vision and mission of TEAM SUMMIT COLORADO

by performing all job responsibilities to the highest professional standard while exhibiting exemplary ethical and

moral values in support of TEAM SUMMIT COLORADO’S core values

To accept and adhere to each of the policies, rules, and requirements as outlined in the employee handbook

Required Skills

-5 season minimum snowboard teaching/ coaching experience

-US Ski & Snowboard Coaching Certification

-Supervisory, leadership, and mentoring ability

-Understand events and rules of USASA, IFSA, and US Ski & Snowboarding competitions.

-Demonstrate a Positive, energetic and enthusiastic attitude

-Exceptional riding skills and competencies in all disciplines

-Demonstrate good communication skills for athletes, parents and Partner Resorts

-Professional Organizational skills along with a professional sense of urgency

-Clear, concise writing and reporting skills

-Competitive Snowboarding Background

- Understanding of human physiology, child development, and athlete conditioning as it pertains to the program

Responsibilities:

-Maintain an up-to-date US Ski & Snowboard and USASA coaching membership

-Facilitate individual athlete progression tailored to the athlete’s personal goals.

- Implement and Maintain an athlete progression for Aerials

-Attend and actively participate in Staff meetings, Orientation, and Team Summit functions.

- Hold regular snowboard staff meetings

- Actively Coach a regular group of athletes and assist in their progression

- Utilize Copper at Woodward and Video Analysis both on snow and off for athlete progression

- Take an active role in Fundraising and athlete recruitment

-Take an active role in the participation, communication, and undertaking of the RM Snowboard series -

Develop a group of competition volunteers to assist TSC and Ski Resort Partner’s hosting of snowboard events

-Attend USASA Nationals

- Coordinate and attend Summer Camps for TSC Snowboard athletes

  3. Implement monthly, weekly, and daily training according to season, conditions, and progression
         - Addresses safety concerns as necessary
  4. Additional tasks
         - Athlete tracking
         - Organizes athlete/parent orientation with Directors
         - Weekly group emails
         - Assist in fundraising and additional activities
         - Schedules and conducts individual goal setting
         - Schedules and conducts team goal settings
         - Tracks progress of both team and individual goals
         - Assist with recruitment as necessary
         - Assist with additional tasks as necessary

PARK & PIPE DEVELOPMENT SKI COACH // Part Time Seasonal

Description

Hiring a part time park and pipe coach to help young athletes develop in the discipline. Previous coaching and/or competition experience preferred.  Will aid young teenagers safely navigate terrain parks, competitive environments.
Process oriented coaching philosophy is a must. 

Must love park and pipe skiing.  

Qualifications, Licenses, Certifications

- All certifications/ requirements can be completed upon hiring. There are no prior-level certifications required. 

- Prior experience instructing, coaching or participation in competitions
- US Ski & Snowboard Coaching License or ability to obtain within first year of employment
- CDC Heads Up Traumatic Brain Injury recognition course or ability to complete within first year of employment
- SafeSport certificate ability to obtain within first year of employment

FREESKI DEVELOPMENT COACH // Part Time Seasonal

Salary: $ 125 day depending on experience, certifications and qualifications. 

 

Qualifications: Prior experience instructing, coaching, or competing. USSA Coaching license “Fast Start” and CDC “Heads Up” Traumatic Brain Injury recognition course. 

 

Duration: Seasonal - Saturdays and Sundays December 1- March 30 with additional days possible

 

Primary Duties:

1. Communication:
Weekly Group Email
Athletes
Parents
Freeski Program Director

2. Conduct Scheduled training from 8:00-3:30 or last athlete is picked up, and pending weather conditions and lift ops.

3. Execute an appropriate daily, weekly, and monthly Training Plan such as:
-Meet group 
-Explain Daily Plan and Safety Tip
-Warm up/group stretch
-Skill Training/with feedback
-Lunch Supervision
-Revisit skill
-Cool down
-Review/wait for athlete pick up

4. Work with Parents and Athletes on an appropriate competition plan.

 

Additional Duties:

  • Help with Team Summit fundraising & activities
  • Help during Hosted Competitions
  • Conducts regular individual athlete meetings 
  • Complete Mid Season and End of Season Athlete Evaluations and submit to Program Director

Job Overview

Team Summit’s Freeski Devo Head Coach will work under the direction of the Freeski Director to provide fun and engaging coaching to young athletes. Team Summit Colorado is a youth development non-profit organization dedicated to elevating youth and helping them achieve their personal and professional podiums.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • ●  Offer fun and appropriate coaching for long-term athlete success.

  • ●  Timely and effective communication with athletes, parents, staff, directors and others.

  • ●  Conduct and organize training and competition schedules.

  • ●  Lead athlete goal-setting sessions and track their progress.

  • ●  Address safety concerns as appropriate.

  • ●  Ability to attend competitions with your athletes both in Summit County, and regionally around Colorado.

  • ●  Be available to assist with Team Summit’s hosted competitions as needed.

  • ●  Complete CPR/First Aid, SafeSport, CDC Heads Up, IFSA, and US Ski & Snowboard Coaching certifications

    (Certifications and courses provided by Team Summit).

  • ●  Assist with other tasks as necessary.

    Qualifications

  • ●  Enjoy sharing your passion for skiing with young athletes.

  • ●  Experience with PSIA, USSS, IFSA, and USASA competition and training environments and/or youth development.
