Intro to Team Summit September Update
Dear Parents and Athletes,
Welcome to Intro to Team Summit! Our Family Orientation is set for November 12 at Copper Mountain. In addition, the Team Summit Ski Swap is that weekend at Copper Mountain. As details become available, they will be posted on our Team Summit website.
The practice schedule for the season is on the ITS calendar: https://teamsummit.org//members/calendars/intro-team-summit-calendar.
Due to the holidays falling on a weekend this year, Thursday, December 22 is the make-up day for our Saturday practice, and Monday, January 2 is the make-up day for our Sunday practice.
I will place our four Summit Cup competitions on the calendar as soon as the dates are confirmed. The events are on a Sunday at one of our four partner resorts in Summit County.
For our Sunday parents:
On the day that Team Summit is hosting a Summit Cup competition, your child’s practice is at the mountain where the Summit Cup is held. There is no additional fee for a lift ticket. When the competition ends, the Sunday athletes ski with their coaches until 3 PM.
Dryland: On Sundays in October, our Devo and ITS programs will hold a few hours of dryland training. Two are held in Summit County, and two at Washington Park in Denver. This is an optional activity. Our human performance coaches will lead the athletes in exercises and games that prepare them for the ski season. Once the details are finalized, they will be placed on our ITS calendar.
Our ITS page can answer many common questions you may have:https://teamsummit.org//ITS. The Family Orientation will cover our program in much greater detail.
Our Team Summit newsletter comes out once a month. If you have not received it, please check your spam file or contact events@teamsummit.org.
I hope everyone had a great start to the school year! I am looking forward to meeting all of you!
My best,
Theresa
