Team Summit Colorado & Safer at Home

I hope this letter finds Team Summit families safe and well while staying active. For those of you on front lines providing essential services to our community, we think of you often. There is no method of expressing to you our gratitude for the risks you are taking.

Our Leadership Team has been making great use of online meeting technology to continue planning for summer and next season, as well as offering several workouts every week that our athletes can do at home. We hope you are taking advantage of this resource.

On the sustainability side of operations, we have stabilized our finances and are able to fulfill all of our obligations to our coaches and other staff. Our whole organization truly appreciates your contributions and support

We have launched registration for all of our 2020-2021 programs. You can register for both the summer and next winter programs now without a deposit. In addition, we are making extra accommodations with regards to payment plans now through October to better support our families’ needs.

Summit County has moved into Phase 1 of lifting restrictions. If that goes well, Phase 2 will begin on May 11th. For Team Summit, this means we will continue providing home-based workout plans through May 11th. Once we are officially in Phase 2, we will start outdoor conditioning in small groups per state and county recommendations.

We continue to have conversations with our resort partners as well as our summer training venues to be prepared as recovery moves into the next phases. As soon as the opportunity arises we will be ready to begin on-snow training.

For the Leadership Team, this means we are feverishly researching best practices to begin group training. The directors continue developing operational plans for outdoor conditioning, use of our clubhouse for training, local outdoor training, and travel for summer training as soon as it is reasonable.

I wish I could outline with certainty what our training plans will be over the next 3 months. But as you are aware things are changing on a daily basis. Through the creative work of our athletic staff, we are positioned to react to every opportunity that becomes available.

In the meantime, we would like to recognize all our seniors and those who have gone above and beyond to make this past season such a success.  Our annual Awards Banquet will now be conducted online via our blog and social media.

Thank you for your support of Team Summit. As recovery begins it is more important than ever to have opportunities ready for our youth for both their physical and mental health.

We look forward to seeing you in and on the mountains.
