Understanding VSF Hours & How to Volunteer with POINT
Understanding VSF Hours & How to Volunteer with POINT
Volunteering is a core part of the Team Summit Colorado community. Through events, races, and fundraisers, families help support our athletes, strengthen our programs, and keep costs manageable for all. To support this, Team Summit uses a Volunteer Service Fee (VSF) system paired with POINT, our volunteer tracking platform. How the Volunteer Service Fee (VSF) Works
When you register your athlete, your family is charged a VSF. Think of this as a refundable deposit you earn back by volunteering during the season. VSF requirements vary by program:- Intro & Devo Programs: Earn back $400 after completing 25 volunteer hours
- Competitive (Comp) Programs: Earn back $400 after completing 30 volunteer hours
- Nordic Programs: Earn back $300 after completing 5 Nordic event hours
Volunteering Made Easy with POINT
Team Summit uses POINT to make volunteering simple and transparent. Once you create your account and join the Team Summit organization, you can browse available opportunities, sign up for shifts, and track your hours — all in one place. With POINT, you can:- View and sign up for volunteer opportunities year-round
- Automatically track hours after checking in at events
- Monitor your progress toward your VSF requirement
- Request missing hours if needed
What Happens at the End of the Season?
At the end of the season, your completed volunteer hours are reviewed and your VSF is credited. You then get to choose what to do with that credit:- Roll it over to a future season
- Donate it back to support Team Summit programs and scholarships
- Request a refund
