What Can You Do as a Team Summit Volunteer?

What Can You Do as a Team Summit Volunteer?

If you’ve ever wondered how to get more involved with Team Summit Colorado—or want a better view of your kid’s race finish—volunteering might be your answer. Volunteers are a huge part of what makes our programs run smoothly. From races to community events and fundraisers, there’s always something going on and always a spot for someone like you.

Winter is Go-Time!

While we love getting out and supporting community events in the summer (Pancake Breakfast, parades, cocktail receptions, and town happenings—you name it), winter is when we really need all hands on deck. That’s when the action ramps up with:
  • Over 50 days of on-snow competitions
  • Community favorites like Bubblegum Races, Zeke’s Shredders, and the Annual Ski Swap
  • Big-time fundraisers like Ski Ball and Eat, Ski, and Be Merry
Every single one of these events relies on volunteers to make it happen—and to make it a memorable experience for all attendees.

Where Can You Help?

Whether you’re looking to be front and center on the hill or helping behind the scenes, there’s a role that fits your vibe.

On the Mountain

Want a ski/ride break that still keeps you close to the action while giving you a front row seat?
  • Gatekeeping (you get to watch every racer come through)
  • Course crew (help keep the hill race-ready)
  • Start/finish line help
  • Scorekeeping support (aka tabulation)
  • Slip crew (yep, you get to ski—and it’s important)
*Did we mention you get a free lift ticket and lunch for volunteering?

At Community Events

  • Bubblegum Races or Zeke’s Shredders (a blast for young athletes)
  • The Annual Ski Swap (great energy and a great way to recycle gear)
  • Info booths or kids’ activities

At Fundraisers and Social Events

  • Set up or tear down Ski Ball and Eat, Ski, and Be Merry
  • Work the registration or auction table
  • Greet guests and keep things running smoothly

Behind the Scenes

  • Event prep, strike, and logistics
  • Office support
  • Join a committee that matches your expertise

Why It Matters

Volunteering isn’t just helpful—it’s fun. You get to meet other awesome families, support your athletes, and be part of something bigger. Plus, you might learn a thing or two about what goes into making a race or event successful. It’s also a great way to earn credit toward your family’s Volunteer Service Fee (VSF).
