Wow, Summer flew by. There is already a chill in the air, the first snow on the peaks and the excitement of the season ahead. Hopefully, you are settling in to the new school "routine" and adjusting to all the changes with style and grace.
There are still many unanswered questions as to what our ski season will look like, but know that our ski area partners are still committed to our goals for training and competition. Proper movement patterns are a cornerstone of all athletic success. Remember that each time you do any athletic movement you are engraining either good movement patterns or poor movement patterns. Be sure to take the time to learn all of the Olympic Lifting patterns with just an empty bar. If an empty bar is still too much load for you to perform the movements with perfection, then use a litter bar or even a broomstick.

Dear Alpine Academy Athletes and all FIS and U16 Athletes and Parents:
This week we will take a break from the Conditioning Zooms. The Summer Conditioning program will begin Monday, June 29 in-person on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The twice-weekly Zoom Conditioning will resume every Tuesday and Thursday beginning Tuesday, June 30. Both programs will continue through August 18.

Part 11 in the series
Grasp the bar with a snatch grip. To find your snatch grip hold the bar at waist level with locked-out elbows. Slowly adjust your grip in or out, while still maintaining straight arms, until the bar hangs at the height of your crease (The crease is the point where your upper leg joins together with your torso. First, the good news: The Team Summit Alpine Camp dates in Mt. Hood are confirmed! With excellent conditions expected to last through August and confirmation of our Summer Camp Training Lanes reservation, we are now able to open registration for two one week sessions at Mt. Hosting an athlete can be a wonderful and rewarding experience. It allows you to personally get to know a ski or snowboard athlete and provides the opportunity to share their hopes and dreams of becoming an elite athlete. Serving as a Host Family can enrich the lives of the athlete and every member of your family. Being a Host Family will also enable you to earn some extra monthly income.
