PART-TIME ABILITY PLUS
The Part-Time Ability Plus Program provides access to all on-snow sessions, including early-season training. Train intensively in blocks or maintain a consistent schedule from October to April; the Plus program includes up to 70 training or competition days throughout the season.
Requirements:
- Age Categories: U16: 14-15 years old, U18: 16-17 years old, U21: 18-20 years old; Senior 21+ based on the athlete’s age as of December 31, 2026.
- Skills: Previous ski racing experience and a valid US Ski and Snowboard Competition license are required. For skill-level questions, contact the Alpine Program Director.
- Program Dates: Tuesday through Friday 1:00-4:00 PM; Saturday and Sunday AM or PM Half-Days; October 23, 2026 – April 11, 2027
- Locations: Training will primarily take place at Copper Mountain, with additional short blocks at Keystone and Breckenridge.
- Competitions: U16 athletes compete in the Sync Series (USSS/RMD sanctioned). FIS athletes compete in the Surefoot Colorado Ski Cup Series and may qualify for FISU, Nor-Am, and Championship events. Ability athletes can compete in all disciplines, including Super G and Downhill, but it’s not mandatory. Race and sign-up details are updated on the Ability Team Calendar. Team travel is available for out-of-division events, with coaches’ travel expenses included in competition travel billing.
- Program Fees:
- $7,295.00
- + $400 Volunteer Service Fee
- Season Passes: Athletes must have a Copper Mountain or Ikon Pass and an Epic Local Pass for training. Registered athletes will receive discount vouchers for Copper Mountain and the Epic Local Pass. Ikon Pass offers season-long pricing at its lowest pre-season price. Vouchers are distributed to registered athletes close to the start of the season. For racers traveling to competitions throughout RMD and nationally, an Ikon Pass may be a more economical option than a Copper Mountain season pass.
