TSC Alpine training provides age and ability-appropriate training progressions to develop skiing skills, progress to more advanced disciplines and pursue the sport to achieve personal podiums at every level. Most importantly, we strive to foster a lifelong passion for skiing and active lifestyles.

Our Programs

Devo

U8, U10, U12

This program develops ski racing fundamentals through free skiing, drills, and gate training (Slalom, GS, Kombi). Race weekends and YSL competitions (3 races) included. Choose your training location: Copper Mtn, Keystone, or Breckenridge.

Requirements:

  • Age Categories: U8 (7 or younger), U10 (8-9), U12 (10-11); based on age as of Dec 31, 2024.
  • Skills: PSIA Level 7—parallel skiing on blue/black terrain, independent chairlift use.
  • Program Dates: Dec 7, 2024 – Mar 30, 2025; Sat & Sun, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM. Bonus: 2 full, 2 half days (holidays). Night training: Fridays, 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM (Dec–Mar) at Keystone.
  • Locations: Breckenridge, Copper, Keystone; training primarily at home mountain.
  • Competitions: 3 YSL races (Giant Slalom, Stubby Slalom, Kombi, Skills Quest); USSS Alpine Competitor license required.

U14, U16, U18

Ski Racing Comp is an intensive training program for U14 and U16 athletes focusing on recreational and High School Racing, not national/international FIS racing. It offers all-day training on Saturdays and Sundays with gate training each weekend and during “Friday Night Lights” at Keystone. Training rotates between Copper Mountain and Keystone. The program includes gate training sessions and all-mountain free skiing and drill skiing. Competitions in the Youth Ski League (YSL) series are supplemented by the GS Spectacular, Loveland Derby, and NASTAR Nationals.

Requirements:

  • Age Categories: U14: 12-13 years old, U16: 14-15 years old, U18: 16-17 years old; based on your child’s age as of December 31, 2024.
  • Skills: PSIA Level 7: Parallel skiing on blue and black terrain; high level of independence to ride chairlifts and navigate the training venue solo. Questions about skill levels? Contact Devo Head Coach Samantha Streletsky at samantha@teamsummit.org.
  • Program Calendar: December 7, 2024 – March 30, 2025; Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM. Bonus: two full days, and two half days over the holidays. Night training: Fridays, 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM (mid-December to early March) at Keystone.
  • Locations: Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, and Keystone; majority of training at the athlete’s home mountain, with special training opportunities that combine all groups at a single venue.
  • Competitions: Athletes compete in the YSL series throughout the season and are encouraged to participate in the GS Spectacular, Loveland Derby, and the NASTAR Nationals.
  • Costs: Comp $3775 (Season Pass Required).
  • Season Pass: Athletes must have passes for Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain, Ikon Pass, or Epic Local Pass for training. Age Class

U10, U12, U14

This program offers U10-U14 skiers flexible training (3 days/week average) alongside full-time academy athletes. Train intensively or maintain a consistent schedule throughout the season. Includes up to 60 training/competition days (Nov-April) in slalom, giant slalom, combi, and intro to Super G (U12 & U14). Free-ski training develops fundamental skills.

Requirements:

  • Ages: 8 to 13,  U10 – 9 years old or younger, U12 – 10 and 11 years old, U14 – 12 or 13 years old. Age Categories: U10, U12, U14, based on your child’s age on December 31, 2024 for the 2024-25 season.
  • Skills: PSIA Level 9:  Parallel skiing all terrain.  High level of independence to ride chair lifts and lap the training venue solo. Previous racing experience as a member of Team Summit Colorado’s Ski Racing Devo, Ski Racing Comp, or similar program is highly recommended.
  • Program Calendar: Athletes in Age Class U10, U12, and U14 Part-time Programs are welcome to participate in any scheduled regular season on-snow training session for their age group from the start of the season in late November through the final race of the season in Mid-April while maintaining an average of 3 days per week. November 26, 2024 to April 15, 2025. Saturday, Sunday and Holiday Periods 8:15 AM – 3:00 PM. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM Night Training: Keystone night training Mid-December to Early March from 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM on Friday.
  • Locations: Training may take place at any of the 4 ski areas in Summit County. Training from November through the holidays will be mostly at Copper Mountain for gate training and both Copper Mountain and Arapahoe Basin for Free-skiing. From Mid-December to late March training is split between Keystone and Copper Mountain and any of the 4 ski areas on remaining weekdays and weekends.
  • Competitions: Age Class athletes will ski in the Bolle Age Class series of races. These US Ski and Snowboard/Rocky Mountain Division (USS/RMD) sanctioned competitions are held at various resorts throughout the area. Competitors must have a valid USS Alpine Competitor license in order to compete. Age Class U12 and U14 athletes race Slalom, Giant Slalom and Kombi with the opportunity of training and racing Super G. U14’s will be given an opportunity to be introduced to USSS point racing in the Sync series (U16 race series), as well as, during the end of season GS Spectacular and Loveland Derby. Championship races are in March.  All U10 and U12 athletes are eligible for championships. U14 athletes qualify for the Rocky/Central U14 Championships from designated races throughout the season.  Approximately a month before each race, Team Summit’s Head Age Class Coach will communicate race and sign-up information. Team travel is offered in special circumstances. Coach travel expenses are included in program fees. Ability

U16, FIS

This program is designed for U16 & FIS athletes (average 3 days/week training). Train intensively or maintain a consistent schedule (Nov-April). Includes up to 60 training/competition days in slalom, giant slalom, and Kombi. Integrate with full-time academy athletes and coaches. Ideal for skiers competing in USSS/FIS races, supplementing high school racing, or aiming for a full-time program. Focuses on LTAD principles, technique, tactics, and RMD U16/FIS prep.

  • Ages: 14 and older, U16 – 14 and 15 years old, U18 – 16 and 17 years old, U21 – 18, 19 and 20 years old. Age Categories: U16, U18, U21, based on your child’s age on December 31, 2024 for the 2024-25 season.
  • Skills: Athletes should have previous ski racing experience and a US Ski and Snowboard Competition license. If you have questions about appropriate skill levels please contact the Alpine Program Director. 
  • Program Calendar: Athletes in the Part-time Ability Program are welcome to participate in any scheduled regular season on-snow training session for the U16 or FIS group from the start of the season in late November through the final race of the season in Mid-April while maintaining an average of 3 days per week. Part-Time Ability FIS athletes will compete in the Surefoot Colorado Ski Cup Series and, when qualified, FISU, Nor-Am and Championship Events. Ability athletes have the opportunity to, but are not required to, train and compete in all disciplines including Super G and Downhill. Race and sign-up information is regularly updated on the Ability Team Calendar in Playmetrics. Team Travel may be available for out of division events. Coaches’ travel expenses are divided among all attending athletes and included in competition travel billing. Age Categories: U16, U18, U21 based on your age on December 31, 2024 for the 2025-25 season (e.g. U18 includes 16 and 17 year olds).

Supplement your primary training with this program! Ski with your age group (Jan-April) for up to 20 days. Integrate with full-time academy athletes and coaches. Perfect for adding to part-time programs, middle/high school racing, or extra training sessions.

  • Ages: 10 and older, U12 – 10 and 11 years old, U14 – 12 and 13 years old, U16 – 14 and 15 years old, U18 – 16 and 17 years old, U21 – 18, 19 and 20 years old. Age Categories: U12, U14, U16, U18, U21, based on your child’s age on December 31, 2024 for the 2024-25 season.
  • Skills: Athletes should have previous ski racing experience and a US Ski and Snowboard Competition license.  If you have any questions about appropriate skill levels, don’t hesitate to get in touch with the Alpine Program Director.
  • Program Calendar: Athletes in the Part-Time Add On Program are welcome to participate in any scheduled on-snow training session for the U12, U14, U16, or FIS group from January 1 to April 15. January 1, 2024 – April 15, 2024, Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays Full Days for U12 and U14; Half Days for U16 and older. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 1:00 pm – 5:00pm. Night Training: Keystone night training available Mid-December to Early March from 4:30 pm – 7:00 pm on Fridays
  • Training Locations: Training may take place at any of the 4 ski areas in Summit County. Training from January 1 to April 15 is principally at Copper Mountain Resort with short blocks scheduled at Keystone Ski Resort and Breckenridge Ski Resort. Night training is available at Keystone on Fridays.
  • Competitions: Athletes may attend competitions with Team Summit when qualified.  These US Ski and Snowboard/Rocky Mountain Division (USSS/RMD) sanctioned competitions are held at various resorts throughout the area.  Competitors must have a valid USSS Alpine Competitor License in order to compete.  Age-class athletes travel independently and assume their own expenses. Team Travel may be available for out-of-division Ability (Ski-Up U14/U16/FIS) athletes. Ability Coaches’ travel expenses are divided among all attending athletes and included in competition travel billing.

FULL-TIME PROGRAMS

ACADEMY AND POST-GRADUATE

U12, U14, U16, FIS

The Full-Time Programs include the Age Class U12/U14 Academy, U16 Academy, FIS Academy and Post-Graduate (PG) Programs. Students work together with our Academic Partners to design a class schedule that allows afternoon training mid-week and excused absences to attend competitions.

Included is an intensive pre-season conditioning program and up to 6 days per week of on-snow training. Ideal for the athlete who is seeking to maximize personal potential whether aspiring to continue competing while in college or as a member of the national team or simply pursuing their passion to become the best skier and racer possible.

The program is focused on helping athletes develop their potential to become their possible best athletically while learning the skills necessary to succeed in any of life’s pursuits.


U12, U14

Requirements:

  • Ages: 10 to 13, U12 – 10 and 11 years old, U14 – 12 and 13 years old. *Mature U10 skiers are considered on a case by case basis. Age Categories: U10, U12, U14, based on your child’s age on December 31, 2024 for the 2024-25 season.
  • Skills: Athletes should have extensive previous ski racing experience and a US Ski and Snowboard Competition license. If you have questions about appropriate skill levels please contact the Alpine Director.
  • Program Calendar: Athletes in the U12 and U14 Academy Program participate in the preparation period conditioning program 3 days per week from August to October. On-snow training is on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons and all day on weekends and holiday periods. Optional sessions are offered on Friday afternoons and Friday nights. Conditioning: September 3 to October 22, 2024 On-Snow Training: October 25, 2024, to April 15, 2024. Saturday, Sunday and Holiday Periods 8:15 AM – 3:00 PM. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 1:00 PM – 4:30PM Night Training: Keystone night training Mid-December to Early March from 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM on Fridays

U18, U21

Requirements:

  • Ages: 16 to 18, U18 – 16 and 17 years old, U21 – 18 year old. Age Categories: U18 and U21, based on your child’s age on December 31, 2024 for the 2024-25 season.
  • Skills: Athletes should have extensive previous ski racing experience and a US Ski and Snowboard Competition license.If you have questions about appropriate skill levels please get in touch with the Alpine Program Director.
  • Program Calendar: Athletes in the FIS Academy Program participate in the preparation period conditioning program 3 days per week from June to August and 5 days per week in September and October. On snow, training is on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons and half days on week-ends and holidays. Conditioning: June 10 to October 23, 2024. On-Snow Training: October 25, 2024 to April 15, 2025. Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays: Half Days. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Training Locations: Training may take place at Copper Mountain, Keystone, and Breckenridge. Training from November through the end of the season in April will be at Copper Mountain with short blocks scheduled at Keystone and Breckenridge.
  • Competitions: FIS athletes will compete in the Surefoot Colorado Ski Cup Series and, when qualified, FISU, Nor-Am and Championship Events. Ability athletes have the opportunity to, but are not required to, train and compete in all disciplines including Super G and Downhill. Race and sign-up information is regularly updated on the Ability Team Calendar in Playmetrics. Team Travel may be available for out-of-division events. Coaches’ travel expenses are divided among all attending athletes and included in competition travel billing.   • Costs: $8,425.00 + $400 Volunteer Service Fee
  • Season Pass: Athletes should have passes for Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain or Ikon Pass and the Epic Local Pass for training at all local areas.  Athletes in good standing with the team will be eligible for discount vouchers for season passes at Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain and the Epic Local Pass. There are no discounts offered for the Ikon Pass. These vouchers will be sent out as soon as Team Summit receives them (which is often very close to the beginning of the season).
