Snowboard Update Nov 30, 2022

Hey Team,

It has been a great early season so far.  The snow is better than it has been for several years and the kids are already firing off new skills.  We look forward to the start of our intro and 101 programs this weekend and also the start of the USASA season for the comp groups in a few weeks.

You can find these updates and other helpful links in the resources section of the play metrics app.

In this update you will find info on:

Intro & 101 vs Comp Programs

Intro and 101 are the 2 programs that run for 15 weeks starting this weekend!  Intro is only on Saturdays and 101 is Saturday and Sunday.  Intro competes in our very own Summit Cup Series and 101 competes in USASA events located in Summit County with a possible field trip near the beginning of March.

Comp Programs are snowboard 201, 301, and Academy.  These programs compete in USASA events across the state, Fis events Nationally and internationally, and IFSA events Nationally and internationally.

We often refer to things as Comp, Intro, or 101.  It helps to remember which zone your kids participate in.

Team App

Intro does not need to worry about the Team app.

101 and Comp programs will need to be familiar with the team app.  You can create a login at teamapp.com.

101 will want to join the usasa rocky mountain series on team app only.  This is how you sign up for events and get event info

Comp Programs will want to join USASA Rocky Mountain Series as well as USASA Aspen Snowmass Series.  To sign up for aspen events you will need to do that at USASA.org

Rail Jam

For kids in Comp programs who want to qualify for Nationals in Rail Jam it can be important to find 3 events to compete in (younger kids 10 and under could get in with less).  The events we will have coaches at are in the playmetrics app.  The first event is Dec. 10th in aspen Please rsvp on the playmetrics app so we know if we have enough kids to send a coach.  Coach Rich will provide further details closer to the contest but its pretty easy.  You will just show up and meet rich there.

Demosphere

Hopefully everyone is getting familiar with the calendars in playmetrics.  There are some other functions that we will start to take advantage of.  There is a resources tab, where these updates will be stored, as well as other links and forms that could become important.

Goal Sheets

We will be creating a goal sheet form in Demosphere for the kids to fill out.  It would be great for the coaches to be able to pull the goal sheet up on the hill from time to time.

Thank you,

Matty V.
