Alpine Updates – March 27, 2020
Dear Team Summit Colorado Alpine Ability athletes, All Alpine parents, and Alpine Coaching staff:
None of us could have imagined the profound impact on our daily lives that the global battle with the Corona Virus has created. Actions taken over the past several weeks by health authorities, schools, our sport governing body and our own organization that may have seemed alarmist at the time have proved to be prudent in the two weeks since.
We don't know when restrictions will ease, programming can resume and some normalcy will return. At the same time, we continue both our short-range...
Charitable Donations, ColoradoGives & COVID-19
A letter from our Board President:
Team Summit appreciates your patience as we navigate these uncertain times and what looks to be an extended interruption to everything we know.
Many of you may not be aware of the effort that goes into keeping tuition lower than actual program costs. Tuition covers approximately 50% of the total cost to operate our programs.
The remainder of Team Summit’s income comes from community fundraising, in-kind donations, grants, and events which generate over $1.7 million each year. Due to the suspension of activities...

U14 RC Championships Recap
Recap of the U14 RC Championships at Steamboat
As many know, the U14 RC Championship was cut short due to concerns over public safety. Team Summit sent five athletes to Steamboat Springs to compete in the championships and they all ranked in the top 30% of their field. More importantly, Team Summit's crew brought a positive, supportive and respectful energy to this incredible event. Here's what Tina Buchheister, TSC coach, had to say about the event:
We have just returned from the U14 Rocky Central Championships at Steamboat Springs. We are proud of our great...

Bar Patterns Part 6 – Bent Over Row
Bar Patterns Part 6 – Bent Over Row
Grasp the bar with a clean grip. This is determined by having your fingers just outside of your shoulders while the bar is resting on the front of your shoulders, like you are setting up for a front squat (this is also called the “rack position”). Begin with the bar hanging in front of your hips and standing with your feet hip width apart. This next piece might sound like an optional step, but it is paramount when it comes to performing the Olympic Lifts properly as we progress into explosive lifting. Hold the bar with a ”hook grip”....
COVID-19 Updates – March 13, 2020
COVID-19 Update – March 13, 2020
I am heartbroken in having to send this message.
Things have escalated quickly here in Summit County. As much as we would love to continue with our programs for the remainder of the season we have reached a point where the risk of contributing to the community spread of COVID-19 outweighs the benefit of continuing organized training at Team Summit.
So effective immediately we are suspending all Team Summit activities. At this time we are unable to accurately determine how long this suspension will be in place. We will continue to communicate...

COVID-19 Update – March 12, 2020
As you know, the COVID-19/Coronavirus continues to spread and raise public concern. We are closely monitoring local health services recommendations, following CDC protocols, communicating with local sports clubs in our region, and gathering information from our local schools as we navigate the best plan for your athletes and our staff at Team Summit.
We expect that the situation will be steadily changing. As it does we will use email and our webpage, teamsummit.org, to provide updates.
Team Summit Colorado will follow the guidance...
$1 billion-plus in play for Colorado nonprofits
$1 billion-plus in play for Colorado nonprofits; now you can use your tax refund to support us
In 2019, Colorado returned more than $1 billion in refunds to 1.9 million state taxpayers.
In 2020, Coloradans who receive a state income tax refund will have a chance to donate all or some of it to a local nonprofit they trust like Team Summit Colorado.
Imagine if state taxpayers chose to donate just a portion of their refunds; this outpouring of support would re-energize local community causes across Colorado and make a massive positive impact on our state.
ReFUND CO highlights an easy way...
