COVID-19 Update – March 13, 2020
I am heartbroken in having to send this message.
Things have escalated quickly here in Summit County. As much as we would love to continue with our programs for the remainder of the season we have reached a point where the risk of contributing to the community spread of COVID-19 outweighs the benefit of continuing organized training at Team Summit.
So effective immediately we are suspending all Team Summit activities. At this time we are...

COVID-19 Update – March 12, 2020
As you know, the COVID-19/Coronavirus continues to spread and raise public concern. We are closely monitoring local health services recommendations, following CDC protocols, communicating with local sports clubs in our region, and gathering information from our local schools as we navigate the best plan for your athletes and our staff at Team Summit.
We expect that the situation will be steadily changing. As it does we will use email and our...
$1 billion-plus in play for Colorado nonprofits
$1 billion-plus in play for Colorado nonprofits; now you can use your tax refund to support us
In 2019, Colorado returned more than $1 billion in refunds to 1.9 million state taxpayers.
In 2020, Coloradans who receive a state income tax refund will have a chance to donate all or some of it to a local nonprofit they trust like Team Summit Colorado.
Imagine if state taxpayers chose to donate just a portion of their refunds; this outpouring of support would re-energize local community...

Athlete of the Month – Dylan Smith
Athlete of the Month – Dylan Smith
Dylan is a positive, responsible and caring young man who happens to also be an outstanding ski racer. He had an early-season injury that kept him out for over a month. In just his second race weekend of his season, after returning from an injury and five-week layoff, Dylan qualified for the RMD Team to the Rocky / Central Regional U16 Championships.
More important than this outstanding athletic achievement, Dylan...
ReFUND CO 2020
ReFUND CO – What is it? How to help?
ReFUND CO highlights an easy way to support our mission.
If you get a state income tax refund in 2020, you will have a new opportunity to donate some or all of it to support our ongoing work in the community.
The new program described by the ReFUND CO initiative puts you in charge of where your donation goes. It’s as simple as 1,2,3:
1. Decide how much of your refund to donate.
2. Enter Team Summit...

Bar Patterns: Romanian Deadlift
Part 5 in the series
Grasp the bar with a clean grip. This is determined by having your fingers just outside of your shoulders while the bar is resting on the front of your shoulders like you are setting up for a front squat (this is also called the “rack position”). Begin with the bar hanging in front of your hips and standing with your feet hip-width apart. This next piece might sound like an optional step, but it is paramount when it comes to...

Snowboard Updates – February 18th, 2020
It has been a crazy competition season. We have more kids traveling to more places for contests, more kids doing well at contests, and unfortunately, more contests getting canceled than ever before. The effort that our families, athletes, parents, and sometimes grandparents put into making a successful snowboard season is remarkable. The Team and the coaches can not thank our membership enough for all of the...
