Big Mountain Skiing Update - 2/28-3/5

Just like that.. March is right around the corner.  It really does fly.  Guns remain blazing as we carry into our 5th straight week of competitions.

This past week, we saw competitions at Monarch and Crystal Mountain, WA.  Emma Litwiller claimed top honors in the U12 field, with Elizabeth Drummond in 3rd.  Bodie Cagen also stood atop the podium for the U12 boys.  Jack Shelton continued his top-10 streak with a 6th.  In Washington, Maddie Haser and Hannah Webb took 1st and 3rd respectively for the 12-14 female division.  Parker Gray notched another top-10 in a national, and Reid Litwiller threw down a solid run which put him just outside of the top-10.  The Crystal event was solidly the strongest level of competition that I have ever seen, and the future of this sport is bright.

Moving ahead into this week, we have some juggling to do.  I'll be headed to Kirkwood for that National event, and Wade and Kieran (and possibly Max) will be making the trip down South to Taos.  As such, we'll have to make some sacrifices with home training since we're spread quite thin.

Schedule

2/28 - Abasin Academy
3/1 - No Training
3/3 - No Training
3/4 - Abasin U13 & U19 9AM-3PM
3/5 - ABasin U13 & U19 9AM-2PM

Training this weekend

I ask that if you're headed to Taos for any portion that you do not attend training on Saturday.  James will be the only coach.  We'll try to make sure that we are staffed appropriately on Sunday for those that are back from Taos by then.

Thanks, I'll see you all after my excursion to California for the junior national event.
