Due to COVID every coach at Team Summit is deserving of this award. The efforts and flexibility demonstrated by all made for an exceptional season. 

But this season’s Golden Brick award for outstanding coach goes to Theresa Eckert. Theresa is our Intro to Team Summit Head Coach. In a normal season, Theresa leads our largest staff and largest group of athletes. This season Theresa’s program exceeded budgeted registration by over 20%. That meant recruiting and training additional staff at the last minute.

One of the tools Theresa used to accomplish this was a major expansion of our Jr. Coach program. This program allows us to use high school students in assistant coaching and full coaching roles with ITS athletes. Not only does this program Elevate Youth with our ITS athletes, but also with junior coaches. 

Theresa also had to create not 1, but 4 COVID operational plans, one for each of our resort partners. ITS athletes being the youngest at Team Summit meant there was extra concern about how to manage lunches and warming up when there was limited access to indoor facilities at the resorts. Since each resort had unique protocols she had to have a different plan at each resort. 

Finally, due to the unique school schedules and childcare needs of families, Theresa launched a new Wednesday ITS program to help families in our community have an activity for their kids when they weren’t in school. 

Theresa always brings enthusiasm, joy, and a commitment to our Core Values to her leadership at Team Summit.
